JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a bilingual, English/Spanish candidate for our Patient Financial Counselor at Weiss Memorial Hospital. This position is considered Full-Time. 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate Degree required 
  • Minimum 2 years computer experience with proficiency in multiple computer applications 
  • Works well with numbers 
  • Excellent customer services skills
JOB DUTIES
  • Liaison between Registration and Revenue Cycle Department.
  • Assist patients with Financial Assistance, notify them of status of application and maintains the Financial Assistance log.
  • Responsible for explaining billing statements and charges to patients.
  • Provides excellent customer service.
  • Collects patient account information, payments and posts to patient accounts.
  • Assists with patient documentation and collection of information needed for accurate reporting.
  • Review credit balances, check for multiple accounts before processing and prepare required documentation for requesting refund when applicable.
  • Document all work on an account when the activity is completed.
  • Answers patient/insurance company billing questions in a professional and courteous manner
  • Respond to written communication from guarantors or payers on the day it is received.
  • Review payer billing and payment information when it is received, update procedures and protocols when necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patients, hospital, and physical related information
  • Reports Comp Data timely
  • Is knowledgeable of general hospital and department specific policies and procedures.
